This Zabbix 7.4 template monitors Woehrle UPS systems equipped with a Generex CS141 SNMP/Web Manager via the standard UPS-MIB defined in RFC 1628.
It is designed for three-phase UPS systems and automatically discovers input, output, and bypass phases using Zabbix Low-Level Discovery. Zabbix can automatically create items and triggers for discovered entities such as individual UPS phases.
Monitored Values
The template collects:
- UPS manufacturer, model, software version, name, and location.
- Battery status, runtime, charge, voltage, current, and temperature.
- Input faults and input phase values.
- Output source, frequency, power rating, and phase values.
- Output voltage, current, power, load, and apparent power per phase.
- Bypass frequency and voltage per phase.
- Active UPS alarms.
- SNMP communication availability.
Triggers detect low or depleted batteries, short remaining runtime, high battery temperature, input faults, mains failure, bypass operation, excessive output load, abnormal input voltage, active alarms, and missing SNMP data.
Required Components
- Zabbix 7.4 server or proxy with SNMP support.
- Woehrle UPS with a Generex CS141 SNMP/Web Manager.
- Network connectivity between Zabbix and the CS141 card.
- SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, or SNMPv3 configured on the card.
- UDP port 161 accessible from the Zabbix server or proxy.
The template uses the standard UPS-MIB OID tree:
1.3.6.1.2.1.33
This MIB defines standard objects for UPS battery, input, output, bypass, and alarm monitoring.
Phase Discovery
The template uses three discovery rules:
- UPS input lines.
- UPS output lines.
- UPS bypass lines.
Depending on the UPS configuration, Zabbix automatically creates monitoring items for one to three phases. This avoids manually creating separate items for L1, L2, and L3.
Some values, such as output apparent power and total output power rating, are manufacturer-specific extensions and may not be available on every CS141 firmware or OEM device.
Configurable Thresholds
{$UPS.OUTPUT.LOAD.WARN} 80 %
{$UPS.OUTPUT.LOAD.CRIT} 90 %
{$UPS.BATTERY.RUNTIME.WARN} 10 minutes
{$UPS.BATTERY.TEMP.CRIT} 40 °C
{$UPS.INPUT.VOLTAGE.MIN} 207 V
{$UPS.INPUT.VOLTAGE.MAX} 253 V
After importing the YAML file, create a host for the UPS, configure its SNMP interface, enter the required credentials, and link the template. The discovered phase items and triggers will then be created automatically.
