This comprehensive Zabbix 7.4 template provides seamless monitoring for CyberPower UPS systems equipped with RMCARD205 network management cards via SNMP.
Compatible with the CyberPower PR3000ERTXL2UAC, this implementation utilizes the CyberPower CPS-MIB v2.13 alongside the standard RFC 1628 UPS-MIB.
Monitored Values
The template collects:
- UPS model, name, firmware, and serial number.
- Power rating and output load.
- Battery status, capacity, voltage, temperature, and runtime.
- Input voltage, frequency, and status.
- Output voltage, frequency, current, power, and energy.
- Active UPS alarms.
- SNMP communication availability.
Triggers provide alerts for low battery capacity, elevated battery temperatures, necessary battery replacements, irregular input power, mains failures, bypass mode activation, system overloads, switched-off outputs, and missing SNMP data.
Requirements
The following components are required:
- Zabbix 7.4 server or proxy with SNMP support.
- Network connectivity between Zabbix and the UPS.
- SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, or SNMPv3 configured on the network card.
- UDP port 161 accessible from the Zabbix server or proxy.
The template relies on numeric OIDs, meaning CyberPower MIB files are not strictly necessary for operation, though they remain valuable for documentation and troubleshooting. Zabbix facilitates SNMP monitoring for UPS hardware, provided that an SNMP interface is properly configured on the monitored host.
Important Detail
Most values use CyberPower-specific OIDs under:
1.3.6.1.4.1.3808
Battery temperature and active alarm counts rely on standard UPS-MIB objects defined in RFC 1628, as the vendor-specific battery temperature OID failed to return data on the tested hardware.
Configurable Thresholds
The user macros detailed below can be customized:
{$UPS.OUTPUT.LOAD.WARN} 80 %
{$UPS.OUTPUT.LOAD.CRIT} 90 %
{$UPS.BATTERY.CAPACITY.WARN} 50 %
{$UPS.BATTERY.CAPACITY.CRIT} 20 %
{$UPS.BATTERY.TEMP.CRIT} 40 °C
Once the YAML file is imported, create a host for the UPS, configure its SNMP interface, input the necessary credentials, and associate the template. The RMCARD205 supports SNMPv1 and SNMPv3 alongside web-based remote management capabilities.
